About the foundation

The International Lipatti-Haskil Foundation was founded in 2004 by Jan Marisse Huizing, artistic director of The International Holland Music Sessions. The goal of the foundation is the preservation and appreciation
of the two great Romanian pianists Dinu Lipatti and Clara Haskil.

Safekeeping and promotion
The foundation will be a platform devoted to these musicians, with information about their discography, biographical literature, and ongoing research into the lives and artistry of these two great Romanian artists.

Cultural exchange
Born out of a distinct sympathy for Romania and its cultural heritage, the foundation will be a vehicle for strengthening international relationships between Romania and other countries, with an emphasis on their mutual cultural and musical heritage.

Lessons and courses
The foundation is planning an International Interpretation Course in Romania as well as in other countries, especially dedicated to the recorded repertoire of both musicians. Among the venues of these courses is the beautiful village of Fundateanca 120 km from Bucharest, in the lush region of Arges, in the central-southern part of Romania.
